Test conditions and test report of salt spray test chamber

The salt spray test chamber is used to test the product's resistance to salt spray corrosion. The specific methods and test reports for the test have strict requirements.

According to the relevant specifications, the test specimens should be tested in normal use. Therefore, the sample should be divided into multiple batches, and each batch is tested according to a state of use. There should be no contact between the specimens and other metal parts, so the specimens should be placed to eliminate the influence between the parts.

Note: The position of the sample in the salt spray test chamber (that is, the angle of inclination of the sample surface from the vertical plane) is very important. A very small difference in position may cause a large difference in results, depending on the shape of the sample.

The temperature of the salt spray test chamber should be maintained at (35 ± 2) ° C.

All exposed areas should be maintained in salt spray conditions. Use an instrument blood with an area of 80 cm2 to continuously collect at least 16 hours of atomized deposition solution at any point in the exposed area. The average hourly collection volume should be between 1.0 ml and 2.0 ml. Two blood collectors are used. The position of the blood should not be blocked by the sample to avoid collecting the coagulated solution on the sample. The solution in the blood can be used to test the pH and concentration.

The measurement of concentration and pH value should be carried out in two periods: 1. For the salt spray test chamber used continuously, the solution collected during the test should be measured after each test; 2. For the salt spray used discontinuously In the test box, a test run of 16h to 24h should be carried out before the start of the test. After the test run is completed, measurements shall be taken immediately before the test starts. In order to ensure stable test conditions, measurements are also carried out in accordance with 1.

The relevant specifications stipulate the test period: 16h, 24h, 48h, 96h, 168h, 336h, 673h.

Unless otherwise specified after the test, the small sample should be rinsed under tap water for 5 minutes, then rinsed with distilled or deionized water, and then shaken or dried with airflow to remove water droplets. The temperature of the cleaning water should not exceed 35 ° C. If necessary, the relevant specifications should specify methods for cleaning and drying larger samples. The sample should be placed under standard recovery conditions, not less than 1h, and not more than 2h.

Specimens should be visually inspected, and if necessary, electrical and mechanical properties should be tested in accordance with relevant specifications, and the test results recorded.

Note: Care should be taken to ensure that the remaining salt deposits do not undermine the importance of the measurement results.

Test report: The report should also include the measured values of concentration and pH. Test conditions and test report of salt spray test chamber
