The five-day China (Sanxiang) Classical Furniture Culture Festival and Home Collections Fair attracted a large number of mahogany furniture industry insiders, enthusiasts and tourists. After visiting the main venue, Mr. Zhu Changling, Chairman of the China Furniture Association, put forward guiding opinions for the development of the Sanxiang mahogany furniture industry.

Reporter: What do you think is the industrial advantage of Sanxiang?

Zhu Changling: Sanxiang is a very distinctive place. First of all, it is a hometown of overseas Chinese. There are so many overseas Chinese here that Sanxiang has extensive contacts with the rest of the world, and it has a culture of different characteristics. It can also spread Chinese culture well. Secondly, Sanxiang is very close to Hong Kong and Macao. Hong Kong and Macao are more international and will bring different cultural characteristics to Sanxiang. Third, Sanxiang has resources such as hot springs, which is a good tourist destination and attracts many tourists. Fourth, Sanxiang is located in Zhongshan City. It is the hometown of Mr. Sun Yat-sen. It has rich cultural heritage. The activities of the year are held in the commemoration of the culture of “Xinhai Centennial” and have rich connotations.

Reporter: What do you think is the future direction of Sanxiang?

Zhu Changling: I think that Sanxiang should put cultural innovation up. It is necessary to combine the furniture industry with the cultural industry and take the road of cultural and creative industries. At the same time, it should also drive the development of related industries, including tourism, food, handicrafts, etc., should be developed simultaneously and gradually improved.

Reporter: You just mentioned innovation. How do you think you should innovate?

Zhu Changling: Innovation includes many aspects, including not only innovation in product design, but also innovation in industrial models and business ideas. This should be a whole innovation, a point rather than an independent point. At the same time, our media should also innovate, know how to promote, use some new directions, angles to publicize, let the people know the three towns, understand the characteristics of the three towns. The Pearl River Delta is a famous processing industry base. How to let the world know more about Zhongshan and how to show the characteristics of Zhongshan is something we should think about.

Reporter: What do you think is the scale of Sanxiang's exhibition to the present day?

Zhu Changling: First of all, I think that reform and opening up have provided a good development opportunity for Sanxiang, which has driven the development of the industry and the economic take-off. As a result, people began to pay attention to and pursue the cultural industry. Secondly, here is the famous hometown of overseas Chinese. The homesickness of overseas Chinese makes them prefer things with Chinese characteristics, like things that advertise the effects of the Chinese nation, and like to pursue Chinese culture. Under their leadership, the Chinese culture was also passed abroad, attracting international friends who love Chinese culture to Sanxiang. Third, there are a group of such talents. They make these cultural products, run this cultural industry, and present Chinese culture in a more three-dimensional way, showing different cultural connotations.
